About Us

The Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. established Dodd Education and Support, Inc. (DES, Inc.) as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation in January 1984.  Members of the Corporation help to implement the service projects of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through the Dallas Alumnae Chapter.

Mission Statement

To help strengthen and expand the charitable and educational programs of Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and  to acquire and manage  property(ies) for the purpose of facilitating the implementation of the chapter's programs and projects.

Significant Accomplishments

  • Acquisition and management of Frederica Chase Dodd Center to Plan, Implement and Host Community Service Programs and to Maintain Dallas Alumnae Chapter Archives
     
  • Procurement of Grants and Other Funding Sources to Support Dallas Alumnae Chapter Programs
     
  • Cultural Competencies for the 21st Century
     
  • Summer Camps, including a Spanish Language Program Presented in Partnership with; Dallas Alumnae Chapter and the African American Museum
     
  • Math, Science and Technology Classes for Delta Academy Students
     
  • Young Artists Renaissance Production
     
  • Collaborated with Dallas Alumnae Chapter to Collect Toys and Books for Underprivileged Children
